It is great to have a children's area in your house. It means that you lovely sitting room, dining room and kitchen do not get cluttered up with children and their toys. Of course, not everyone has the luxury of an extra reception room, where you can put the children in to play, but if you do then think hard about it.
You may not like the idea of giving up a room for the children, but if you can keep all of their kids games altogether in one place it will mean that you can keep all of your other rooms just for the grown ups. If they are a bit older, you can put in games tables and then the whole family can play together, perhaps at the weekends or evenings. Just imagine how nice it would be if the family can all get together at specific times to play a particular game. It could really help to bring all of the family together and give you a great space to be together.
Imagine all of the family playing shuffleboards, snakes and ladders or pool together and how much fun it could be. If you have friends and family over you could all play together. It is worth having a good think about it, if you have ever tried to have an adult conversation surrounded by toys, or sit down and relax at the kitchen table with a cup of tea and trying to ignore the selection of board games and felt tip pens, then you will know what a blessing it could be to allow the children to have a room of their own. It is great, to not only have them playing in another place so that the mess does not spread through the whole house but also they can have some storage room to keep all of the toys, games and craft items which you collect over the years.
They will enjoy having their own room as well because they will be able to be as messy as they like without anyone telling them to tidy up and also they can make noise without being asked to be quiet. Often people keep their childrens toys in their bedrooms but it is a good idea to keep the bedroom just for sleeping as it is a more relaxing space for them then and you will not have to tidy it up every night when you want to find the way to bed to read them a story or tuck them in.
